Baseball Recap: Fleming Island Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fleming Island can now relate to. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia Tigers on Thursday. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Fleming Island got a good showing from Evan Huber, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Fleming Island's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Columbia, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Fleming Island nor Columbia have any future games scheduled.
