Softball Recap: SouthWest Edgecombe Takes a Loss

SouthWest Edgecombe lost against Washington back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pam Pack.

Mackenzie Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

SouthWest Edgecombe's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Washington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

SouthWest Edgecombe wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-5 victory against Hunt on the 16th. Hopefully Washington paid attention to the Cougars' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
