Basketball Recap: Spring Valley Piles Up the Points Against Lancaster

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spring Valley). They breezed by the Lancaster Bruins to the tune of 79-46 on Saturday. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 33 points or more this season.

Spring Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lauren Crosland, who went 7 of 9 en route to 22 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Crosland is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Zie'L Ratchford, who posted 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Spring Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive games dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Lancaster lost, don't look at Eliza Baskins. Despite the final result, she put up 25 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylyn Hollenbeck, who posted six points and seven rebounds.
