Preview: Arp Tigers vs. West Rusk Raiders
The Arp Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the West Rusk Raiders at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Arp's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Elysian Fields by a score of 36-23.
Meanwhile, West Rusk scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Elysian Fields, posting a 78-24 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win West Rusk has posted yet this season.
West Rusk got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keke Murphy out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 steals. Murphy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kimora Pryor, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 steals.
Arp's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-18. As for West Rusk, their victory bumped their record up to 8-18.
Arp was taken down by West Rusk 66-36 in their previous meeting on January 2nd. Can Arp avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
