Basketball Recap: Taylor County Comes Up Short

Taylor County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the North Florida Christian Eagles, falling 68-25. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-49 back in December of 2024.

North Florida Christian found their leader in sophomore Lila Riggan, who posted 33 points along with eight steals and seven assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Riggan has scored at least a third of North Florida Christian's points. Ahmiyah Richards was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Taylor County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for North Florida Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Taylor County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-22 win against Jefferson County on the 1st. As for North Florida Christian, they have also already played their next match, a 59-42 victory against FAMU DRS on the 7th.
