Volleyball Recap: Oceanside Takes a Loss

Oceanside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the La Costa Canyon Mavericks.

Oceanside was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 25-14.

Leading La Costa Canyon to victory were Olivia Lee and Presley Thompson. Lee had four digs and two aces, while Thompson had nine digs and two aces. Lee is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 19 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Oceanside's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for La Costa Canyon, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-11.

Oceanside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Poway on the 10th. As for La Costa Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mt. Carmel on the 15th.
