Sumter entered their tilt with Blythewood on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Bengals by a score of 47-34. The Gamecocks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bengals, too.

When it comes to explaining why Blythewood lost, don't look at James Veasey. Despite the final result, he threw for 214 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 95 yards. Tay'Shawn Johnson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 60 receiving yards.

Sumter's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Blythewood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sumter and Blythewood will both be playing Ridge View the next time they take the field. The Gamecocks will host the Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Bengals will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.
