Baseball Recap: Nazareth Snags 13th Victory in Last 15 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Nazareth had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the O'Donnell Eagles by a score of 10-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Swifts considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Zane Schulte spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cameron Pohlmeier was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Lincoln Pohlmeier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Nazareth has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for O'Donnell, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Nazareth beat the Eagles by a score of 14-13 later that day.
