Softball Recap: Williamsville East Comes Up Short

Williamsville East entered their matchup against North Tonawanda on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Flames took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lumberjacks. The Flames were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lumberjacks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Williamsville East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Libby Kosmowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That run was Kosmowski's first of the season. Lucy White was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Williamsville East's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for North Tonawanda, the win keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Williamsville East and North Tonawanda should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Flames will take on Hamburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (107 vs. 224). Meanwhile, North Tonawanda (ranked 20th) will meet Kenmore West (ranked 347th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
