Football Recap: Hillsboro Hiltoppers vs. North Mac Panthers

The third road contest was the charm for Hillsboro, as they earned their first away win of the season. They blew past the North Mac Panthers 43-20 on Friday. The matchup marked the Hiltoppers' most dominant victory of the season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tytin Wells and Amony Anderson. Wells rushed for 185 yards and a pair of scores while Anderson rushed for 110 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries. Those 185 rushing yards gave Wells a new career-high.

Hillsboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Mac only rushed for 139.

Hillsboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rheece Malloy and Jaden Loskot.

Defeat or not, North Mac got some senior leadership from Kevin Bricker and Kadin Casey. Bricker gained 120 total yards and a touchdown, while Casey gained 131 total yards and a touchdown.

The win got Hillsboro back to even at 3-3. As for North Mac, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Hillsboro will host Litchfield/Mt. Olive at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillsboro will be up against Litchfield/Mt. Olive's rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Mac, they will head out to take on Pana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Mac will need to watch out since Pana has now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
