Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Find Success

St. Joseph lost to Lompoc last Wednesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Knights came out on top against the Braves by a score of 6-1.

Mason Majewski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Joseph let Erik Furness and Dom Hernandez run wild. Furness went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Hernandez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Thomas Jay Dugger also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Lompoc, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

St. Joseph didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-3 victory against San Marcos on the 5th. Lompoc has also already played their next game (against Edison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
