Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Olympus Titans

Hillcrest is 0-10 against Olympus since February of 2016 but things could change on Friday. Both will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. Hillcrest will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

While Hillcrest didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Park City with a sharp 73-53 victory on Friday. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Hillcrest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anton Mahler led the charge by putting up 18 points and seven rebounds. Myles Mahler was another key player, posting 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, Olympus was able to grind out a solid win over Fremont on Friday, taking the game 55-48. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Silverwolves are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Olympus and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Hillcrest, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hillcrest was taken down by Olympus 94-53 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hillcrest was down 51-21.
