Baseball Game Preview: Oakland Tech Bulldogs vs. Skyline Titans

The Oakland Tech Bulldogs will challenge the Skyline Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Oakland Tech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Oakland. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Elijah Rucker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hayden Burton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, while Skyline put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for KIPP King. The Titans were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Lions. The Titans have beaten the Lions the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Oakland Tech's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.

Oakland Tech skirted past Skyline 6-5 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
