Volleyball Recap: Ryle Raiders vs. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Eagles
Ryle lost against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Raiders fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.
Ryle started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-15, 16-14.
Morgan Heater paced Ryle's offense, picking up 23 kills. Heater got some help from Morgan Gehring and her 29 assists. Heater was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Ellie Eldredge was a one-woman wrecking crew For Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. as she had 39 digs and seven assists. With that strong performance, Eldredge is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Another player making a difference was Anna Eldredge, who had ten digs and three aces.
Ryle's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Ryle and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Raiders will square off against Campbell County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (15 vs. 103). Meanwhile, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (ranked 43rd) will meet New Richmond (ranked 379th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
