Soccer Recap: Fort Myers Victorious

Fort Myers's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gulf Coast Sharks, sneaking past 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Green Wave, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

MacKenzie Root and Lyla Perk scored both of Fort Myers' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Fort Myers has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Gulf Coast, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Myers will be home for the holidays to greet Cape Coral at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gulf Coast, they will host Venice at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
