Basketball Recap: Red Rock Central Takes a Loss

Red Rock Central played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 68-30 defeat at the hands of the Renville County West Jaguars. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Stavnes, who posted eight points and five steals. Those five steals gave Stavnes a new career-high. Abe Stavnes was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Red Rock Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Renville County West, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Rock Central will square off against Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Springfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Red Rock Central likes a good challenge. As for Renville County West, they will host Canby at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Renville County West is facing Canby at the right time seeing as Canby is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
