The Morrison Mustangs will face off against the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Morrison will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Saturday, Morrison was able to grind out a solid victory over Mendota, taking the game 12-9.

Jake Stobbe was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Carson White and Gage Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: White went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Wilson went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. White is becoming a predictor of Morrison's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Koltin Swaim, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Annawan-Wethersfield had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They never let the Storm get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
The result came thanks to Myer MyerHeitzler's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maddux Heitzler was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Thurston, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Annawan-Wethersfield's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Morrison, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Morrison was able to grind out a solid victory over Annawan-Wethersfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 3-0. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
