Game recap: Archbishop Mitty High School Football Team tops Archbishop Riordan

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Trent Scharrenberg to Dakari Monroe in the first quarter, Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) led 28-0 at the half.

The Monarchs grew their lead to 44 points entering the fourth quarter. Archbishop Mitty scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Scharrenberg to Erik Sargis.

Scharrenberg played well for AM in the victory. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.

Archbishop Riordan's only touchdown came on a 29-yard pass from Zach Masoli to Robert Valencia in the fourth quarter.



The defeat comes as a step back for Archbishop Riordan, which notched a 43-18 victory over Mission in its previous outing. The win brought Archbishop Mitty's winning streak to four games.

Archbishop Mitty (4-0) will play a West Catholic game against Valley Christian next week, while Archbishop Riordan (2-2) will take on St. Ignatius also in a West Catholic game.
