Preview: Douglas County West Falcon vs. Louisville Lions
Douglas County West has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Louisville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Douglas County West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday.
Even though Omaha Nation scored an imposing 61 points, Douglas County West still came out on top. Douglas County West snuck past Omaha Nation with a 66-61 victory.
Grace Holm was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Ava Grimm was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Louisville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Fort Calhoun 47-16. While losing is never fun, Louisville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Fort Calhoun is ranked 84th).
Douglas County West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Louisville, they bumped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Douglas County West against Louisville when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 68-26 victory. With Douglas County West ahead 34-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
