Baseball Game Preview: Napa Grizzlies vs. Vintage Crushers

For the second straight game, Napa will face off against Vintage. The Grizzlies will be playing at home against the Crushers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Napa is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Vintage hit Napa with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grizzlies came up short against the Crushers, falling 11-1.

For Vintage's part, John Bullock was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Vintage is undefeated when Bullock allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Bullock was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Porter, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and three runs. He has become a key player for Vintage: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Parker Dahl, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Napa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Vintage, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
