Basketball Recap: Lewis Cass Kings vs. North Miami Warriors
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lewis Cass Kings had no problem doing just that on Friday. They slipped by the Warriors 35-34. Given Lewis Cass' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Warriors are ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lewis Cass' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heta Kosunen, who scored eight points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Kosunen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Mennen, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Lewis Cass has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for North Miami, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Lewis Cass won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. North Miami does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
