Basketball Recap: Las Vegas Skates Past Cheyenne with Ease

There's no place like home for Las Vegas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They breezed by the Cheyenne Desert Shields to the tune of 66-23 on Thursday. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Tayshaun Jackson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 15 en route to 24 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Malachi Dorsey, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Las Vegas was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Cheyenne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Phoenix Dalton had 13 points and five assists.

Las Vegas moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cheyenne, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Las Vegas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-70 win against Somerset Academy Losee on the 27th. As for Cheyenne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-48 loss against South Anchorage on the 27th.
