Football Game Preview: Hanover Hornets vs. Idalia Wolves

The Hanover Hornets will take on the Idalia Wolves at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hanover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 35.5 points per game this season.

Hanover will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Genoa-Hugo, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hornets enjoyed a cozy 38-19 win over the Pirates on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Hornets considering their six-point performance the matchup before.

Hanover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tanner Lindsey, who picked up 138 receiving yards and three TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Lindsey has become a key player for the Hornets: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Thomas Griffin Jr. was another key back, rushing for 111 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Idalia played against Miami-Yoder on Wednesday and won via forfeit.

Idalia's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Hanover, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Hanover was taken down by Idalia 58-0 in their previous meeting back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wolves' Broderick Kite, who threw for 111 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing.
