Baseball Recap: Carter Green Hornets vs. West Greene Buffaloes

Carter came into Monday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged the West Greene Buffaloes out 4-2.

Clayton Cummings looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Cooper Cardwell was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Painter, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Carter's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-12. As for West Greene, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Carter will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Greene at 6:00 p.m. West Greene does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
