Softball Recap: Wellsboro Comes Up Short

Wellsboro lost against Hughesville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hornets lost 12-2 to the Spartans. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by exactly ten runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Wellsboro and nudges their season record down to 4-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-4 Towanda (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.8% over those games). As for Hughesville, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Wellsboro has already played their next game (against Athens), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hughesville, they will challenge Towanda at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
