Volleyball Recap: Caston Comes Up Short on the Road Against Lewis Cass

Caston kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Lewis Cass Kings by a score of 2-1. The Comets were not able to make up for their loss to the Kings from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Caston started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 15-4.

Lauren Tocco was the offensive standout of the contest as she had nine digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Looking ahead, Caston will challenge Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lewis Cass, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Logansport on the 16th.
