Softball Recap: Magnolia Wins Going Away Against Parkers Chapel

Magnolia barely beat Parkers Chapel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 18-3 win on Monday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Cheyanne Evans made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Evans was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Sophie Smith was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kadence Ellis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Magnolia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Magnolia's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Parkers Chapel, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Magnolia will square off against Camden Fairview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Parkers Chapel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ouachita at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
