West Albany and Lebanon are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m.
West Albany came up short against Dallas on Friday, falling 10-3. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Albany saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Kidd 2026, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Meritt Forney 2025 also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Lebanon and Corvallis have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Spartans 18-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 21st.
The team relied heavily on Mahala Pyle, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Scarlett French was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Lebanon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.
Lebanon's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for West Albany, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-13.
Lebanon's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. West Albany has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lebanon, though, as they've been averaging only 2 strikeouts. Will West Albany keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?
