Stroud has gone a perfect 6-0 against Stratford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Stroud will square off against Stratford at 5:00 p.m. Stroud is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Stroud took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Strother with a sharp 10-2 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Stroud got a great performance from Zane Charkowski as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Jessen Leathers was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Stryker Bray also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Stratford suffered their closest loss since April 11, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Wynnewood by a score of 4-2. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Savages recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Camon McNew was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jonah Myers was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Stroud now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Stratford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Stratford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stroud has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. It's a different story for Stratford, though, as they've only averaged .353. Will they be able to contain Stroud's hitters?
Stroud took their victory against Stratford in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6. Does Stroud have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stratford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
