Softball Recap: Redwood Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Redwood won the last time they faced Mt. Whitney and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rangers blew past the Pioneers 8-0. Considering the Rangers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mt. Whitney's batters probably weren't too happy with Reagan King, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up zero walks). King has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexis Rico, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Kenzie Cantu was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Redwood's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Mt. Whitney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13-2.
