Softball Recap: J.P. McCaskey Takes a Loss

J.P. McCaskey made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hempfield, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Tornado fell just short of the Black Knights by a score of 6-4 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in April.

Alayah Gartman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.

J.P. McCaskey has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Hempfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

J.P. McCaskey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hempfield, they will challenge Red Lion at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
