Recap: Mount Juliet Golden Bears vs. Castle Knights
Mount Juliet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 11-4 loss at the hands of the Castle Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mount Juliet of the 8-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.
Hailey Stewart made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with a triple, a run, and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Hughes, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
On Castle's side, Sadie Winsett made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Winsett was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double.

Mount Juliet will be staying on the road on Sunday to face off against Warren Township at 3:00 p.m. As for Castle, they will square off against Baylor at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Baylor's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Castle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
