Baseball Game Preview: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Sage Creek Bobcats

For the second straight game, Del Norte will face off against Sage Creek. The Nighthawks will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Del Norte was able to grind out a solid victory over Sage Creek, taking the game 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Nighthawks.

Del Norte got a great performance from Cole Hoffman as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. The Nighthawks are 2-1 when Hoffman allows one or fewer hits, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Liam O'Day was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Del Norte's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 4-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Sun, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Del Norte lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Sage Creek moved to 9-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Del Norte, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
