Basketball Recap: Millville Takes a Loss

Millville managed to keep up with Middle Township until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Millville Thunderbolts had to suffer through a 59-28 loss at the hands of the Middle Township Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Thunderbolts in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Middle Township's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Elston, who made all 6 shots he took for 17 points. Elston is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Jamir McNeil was another key player, putting up ten points along with five assists and four steals.

Millville's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Middle Township, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millville will face off against Mainland Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Middle Township, they will take on Ocean City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
