Football Recap: South Newton Comes Up Short

After soaring to 34 points the game before, South Newton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a blow against the West Central Trojans, falling 52-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Drea Villarreal continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Central, rushing for 90 yards and four TDs, while also picking up 33 receiving yards. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Villarreal a new career-high. Ezra Rodriguez was in the mix too, providing West Central with one touchdown.

South Newton's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for West Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

South Newton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-14 victory against North White on the 4th. As for West Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-14 win against Faith Christian on the 3rd.
