Preview: Theodore Bobcats vs. Hewitt-Trussville Huskies
The Theodore Bobcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Theodore focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Even though Daphne scored an imposing 56 points, Theodore still came out on top. Theodore came out on top in a nail-biter against Daphne and snuck past 58-56. Given Theodore's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Daphne is ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Houston Cunningham, who scored 26 points along with three steals. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jaden "JJ" Bush was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-30, which was the final score in Hewitt-Trussville's tilt against Vestavia Hills on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hewitt-Trussville in their matchups with Vestavia Hills: they've now lost seven in a row.
Theodore now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hewitt-Trussville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
