The matchup between River Valley and Wickenburg on Friday hardly resembled the 15-8 effort from their previous meeting. The Dust Devils breezed past the Wranglers to the tune of 71-0. The Dust Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

River Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Shane Steinbeck, Brodee Abell, Riley Gonzalez, and Landon Neufeld picked up one apiece. Steinbeck got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the third in a row for River Valley, bringing their record up to 4-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Wickenburg, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

River Valley and Wickenburg will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Dust Devils see the field they'll take on Seton Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Wickenburg, their break will end when they face Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
