Baseball Recap: Scio Loggers vs. Santiam Wolverines
Scio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 11-6 to the Santiam Wolverines. The Loggers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Henry Siegmund made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in triples (two). Hunter Davis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Scio's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Santiam, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Coming up, Santiam will square off against Harrisburg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Scio will be paying especially close attention to Santiam's contest: after Santiam faces off against Gaston, they'll take on Scio again at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
