Softball Recap: Eagle Victorious

After losing to Boise the last time they met, Eagle decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mustangs walked away with a 16-12 win over the Brave on Thursday.

Erin Thoreson was a standout: she scored four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Aly Vieira was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Thoreson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Eagle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Mustangs are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Eagle's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Boise, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle will challenge Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Boise, they will square off against Ridgevue at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Brave are facing the Warhawks at the right time seeing as the Warhawks are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
