Basketball Game Preview: Lake Minneola Hawks vs. Windermere Wolverines

The Lake Minneola Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Windermere Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Minneola has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Lake Minneola will head into Friday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 34-point drubbing they dealt East Ridge on Friday. Lake Minneola simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Ridge 92-58. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Knights are ranked 645th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ethan Isom was his usual excellent self, putting up 26 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Tyrell Thomas was another key player, scoring 14 points.

Meanwhile, Windermere unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hialeah Educational Academy.

Windermere's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Lake Minneola, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Lake Minneola took a serious blow against Windermere in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, falling 68-27. Can Lake Minneola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
