Football Game Preview: Eden/North Collins Raiders vs. Tonawanda Timberwolves

The Eden/North Collins Raiders will face off against the Tonawanda Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eden/North Collins will be strutting in after a win while Tonawanda will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Eden/North Collins was fully in charge, breezing past Cardinal O'Hara 35-7. The Raiders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Eden/North Collins' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Waring, who rushed for 97 yards and a pair of TDs. Waring really tore up the turf during one magnificent 83-yard run. Another player making a difference was Carter Bishop, who rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Silas Nellis, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-8, which was the final score in Tonawanda's tilt against Medina on Thursday. The Timberwolves have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Eden/North Collins pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.7 points over those games. As for Tonawanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
