Softball Recap: Pekin Has No Trouble Against Kankakee

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brimfield, Pekin was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Kankakee Kays as Pekin made off with a 15-0 win.

Kylea Sidell was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Sarah Baughman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Sidell wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Pekin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Pekin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kankakee, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pekin beat Kankakee by a score of 11-0 later that day.
