Baseball Recap: Sequoyah's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Sequoyah pushed their score to 13 the last time they played Polk County, but on Thursday they couldn't quite do it again. The Sequoyah Chiefs never let the Polk County Wildcats get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Chiefs as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Ryan Hall made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Sequoyah's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Sequoyah wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-4 victory against Midway on the 7th. As for Polk County, they will head out on the road to take on Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
