Basketball Recap: Independence Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Independence had won two straight games and Jayden Anderson did his part to make it three on Monday. The Tigers took down the Amite Warriors 87-71 with plenty of help from Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

Another player making a difference was Haymann Milton, who posted 21 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Independence's record now sits at 3-0. As for Amite, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Independence will face off against Kentwood at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Amite, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Iberville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
