Rantoul posted their closest victory since September 9th on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 21-25, 26-24, 28-26.

Airiana Bell paced Rantoul's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bell got some help from Lauren Herbert and her 30 assists. Bell also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Talia Vargas, each putting up three.

The victory snapped Rantoul's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 9-7 record. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Rantoul has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Monticello on the 25th. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Unity Christian on the 30th.
