Basketball Game Preview: Pomeroy Pirates vs. Dayton Bulldogs

Pomeroy and Dayton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Pomeroy Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dayton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Pomeroy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 32-31 to Asotin.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Dayton's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a blow against Garfield-Palouse, falling 60-13. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Dayton's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Pomeroy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Pomeroy came out on top in a nail-biter against Dayton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 38-36. Will Pomeroy repeat their success, or does Dayton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
