Football Game Preview: Ashbrook Greenwave vs. Crest Chargers + How To Watch

Ashbrook is 0-10 against Crest since August of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Greenwave will host the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Crest will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Ashbrook extended their winning streak to eight on Friday. The Greenwave put the hurt on Forestview with a sharp 27-6 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Greenwave's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Jaguars are ranked 216th).

Savion Lindsay and Aj McClain were among the main playmakers for Ashbrook as the former gained 195 total yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes. Lindsay's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. Martino Smith got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, while Crest put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for North Gaston. The Chargers breezed past the Wildcats to the tune of 76-0. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Ashbrook's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Crest, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Things could have been worse for Ashbrook, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 29-12 loss to Crest when the teams last played back in September of 2024.
