Softball Game Preview: Rockwall-Heath Hawks vs. Forney Jackrabbits

The Rockwall-Heath Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Forney Jackrabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Rockwall-Heath is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Rockwall just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 9-3 to the Yellowjackets.

Rockwall-Heath saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jada Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Forney came tearing into Tuesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Jackrabbits have won 18 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Forney's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-1-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Rockwall-Heath, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-15.

Rockwall-Heath suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Forney when the teams last played back in March. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
