Baseball Recap: Raton Comes Up Short

Raton was the 15-5 winner over Tucumcari when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Raton fell 9-4 to Tucumcari on Friday. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Chase Middlebrook made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Braylon Walton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Tucumcari, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Raton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-6 loss against Oak Grove Classical Academy on the 29th. As for Tucumcari, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-5 victory against Texico on the 29th.
