Soccer Game Preview: Wylie vs. Wylie East

The Wylie Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Wylie East Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wylie is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, everything went Wylie's way against Lakeview Centennial as Wylie made off with a 6-1 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Wylie East after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Garland who was credited with the win. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wylie pushed their record up to 12-4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five games. As for Wylie East, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Wylie came out on top in a nail-biter against Wylie East in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wylie since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
